Use & Occupancy Grant Training
Share |

Make plans to join us for this 4 hour grant-funded course as we explore the ways in which buildings are utilized and link the proposed use  to the Occupancy Group and Classification requirements of the Florida Building Code. Today, buildings and the way we use them are not always straight forward and easily classified into a single occupancy. Building Officials, Plans Examiners, and Inspectors must be able to identify single use, mixed use, incidental uses, as well as those situations when the proposed work includes a Change of Occupancy Group and or Classification. Upon completing this course participants will be able to navigate FBC Chapters 3, 4, and 5 as they determine the Occupancy Group and Classification of every building.

These courses are offered at no cost to license holders in the state of Florida (building inspectors, plans examiners, building code officials, licensed contractors, etc.). Non-licensed employees must provide verification of employment on letterhead, a certificate of workers compensation, or workers comp exemption. Click here for a sample verification letter.

Seating capacity is limited based on location. Online registration required - classes fill up fast, so reserve early!
