How Do Online Classes Work?
Share |

BOAF's online courses can range anywhere from one to five hours, depending on the specific training course. Available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, you decide when and where you will complete your coursework. View our Demo Video Here.

Students access the course through a secure password-access portal.  The course material is broken down into Learning Modules of related material, then presented in individual lessons.  Information is presented by text, pre-recorded video and pre-recorded audio with “checks for understanding” inserted as needed in lessons.  Students must complete the modules and lessons in order, and cannot move from a lesson until the previous lesson is completed.  Lessons are also timed to ensure the student is exposed to lesson information for an adequate minimum amount of time.  Email access to industry experts in this topic is available to students who have questions.

Assessment: Modules each contain a quiz, and a minimum score of eighty percent is required on each quiz to move to the next module.  All modules must be successfully completed to move to the comprehensive Final Exam.  A minimum score of eighty percent is required to pass the final exam.  Students cannot collect a certificate until he or she successfully completes the final exam.  All information on student progress and completion is preserved in the classroom database, and successful completion is recorded in the BOAF database.  Student progress is monitored electronically and manually to encourage students to finish the course in a timely manner.  Students will have two months to complete the course.  Extensions to this time limit may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
