Grant-Funded Training FAQs



 

Q: WHO MAY ATTEND?

A: Building Code Administrators, Inspectors, Plans Examiners, Architects, Engineers, Construction Contractors, Home Inspectors, Mold Remediators and employees in the design and construction industries.

 

Q: Why is this free?

A:The seminar is through a grant from the Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR). 

 

Q: Will lunch be served?

A: Yes, a deli lunch will be served. A $10 refreshment fee will be charged when you register.   Building Officials who cannot pay online are welcome to pay at the door.


Q: For which continuing education categories will I receive credit?

A:You will receive a total of 7 CEUs.  For licensees under CILB, the courses will satisfy the categories of 2 advanced code hours and 5 general credit hours.

 

Q: May I send my staff for free? 

A: Non-licensed employees must provide verification of employment on letterhead, a certificate of workers compensation, or workers comp exemption. 


Q: When will I receive my Certificate of Completion?

A: You will receive your certificate at the end of the training day.


Q: What if I attend less than 7 hours of the session?

A: DBPR requires all licensees to attend 50 minutes of each hour for courses listed on the sign in sheet.  In order to receive credits, you must attend for the entire day.
